What is a business interpreter certificate?
A business interpreter certificate teaches bilingual adults how to become competent, professional linguists. It is our job to teach bilingual adults how to provide accurate and efficient translations for a career that demands an intimate knowledge of policy, process and procedure.
To qualify for our business interpreter certificate training program, you must:
- be at least 18+
- have a high school diploma or GED
- be bilingual in English and one other language- either Russian, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Haitian Creole or Portuguese
- be willing to prove and pass your literacy and fluency with a language assessment pre-test
- have stable internet connection
- register with a $50 non-refundable registration fee + the cost of the program
- attend the 2 hr remote class every Monday & Wednesday over 7 weeks
What will a business interpreter certificate help me accomplish?
At the end of our 45-hour, 7-week online business interpreter training course, our students will be more knowledgeable and prepared to provide professional interpreting services. Whether you go on to work for a financial institution or provide freelance services, you have more confidence in yourself and so will your clients. You may be involved in high-stakes negotiations or asked to present a portfolio for a client. This may be required for one to even 20 people.
You will learn essential techniques and approaches to interpreting conversation by expert instructors. While receiving real-world experience and in the moment correction because our remote courses are LIVE through video conferencing technology.
To present yourself as a trusted expert, you must be more than bilingual. We cannot stress enough the importance of credibility in the world of finance. Whether it's working with insurance, balance sheets, investor reports, blockchain translations, tax reporting, shareholder briefs or something else entirely. All of the aforementioned have their own vernacular and procedures that you must know in both languages.
