TRANSLATION AND LOCALIZATION
TRAINING COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Online Translation and Localization Training Course was designed for students with high proficiency in English and at least one spoken Language other than English who are interested in developing translation skills to meet the growing demand for skilled translators in different professional fields, such as: business, law, healthcare, technology, tourism, media, and government.

- Stylistics in Translation
- Cultural Context
- Situational Context
- Editing for Translators
PART 2: Translation & Localization Technologies
- Translation Science and Technologies
- Translation Software and Tools
- CAT Tools: Computer-Assisted Translation (review at least 5 different CAT and translation memory software tools, including Trados)
- Software & Website Localization
- Translation & Localization Project Management
- Machine Translation & Post-Editing
- Translation Memory
- Terminology Management
PART 3: Translation Seminar, Language Specific (with a Language Coach)
Students will receive their translation homework by email, translate the text and review their translation in class with their language coach.
Students will also practice sight translations with their instructor in class.
