IF I BECOME AN INTERPRETER, WHAT FIELDS CAN I WORK IN?

Interpreters work in a wide variety of fields, acting as a crucial communication link. These areas include medical (hospitals, clinics), legal (courtrooms, depositions), business (manufacturing facilities, international meetings, conferences), immigration (immigration hearings, asylum interviews, immigration court), education (public schools), public service, government affairs, national security agencies, and many others. The need for interpreters exists in any sector where individuals who speak different languages must communicate effectively.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BECOME AN INTERPRETER WITH YOUR TRAINING COURSES?

In order to be considered you must:

  • - Be bilingual in English and another language.
  • - Register online to reserve a seat in one of our interpreter training courses
  • - Pay your $50 Registration Fee
  • - Pass the Language Assessment Pre-Test
  • - Pay your course fee after you successfully pass the test

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED FOR AN ONLINE INTERPRETER TRAINING COURSE?

Here is the list of supplies you'll need for the interpreter training course:

  • - Computer with a reliable internet connection.
  • - Computer microphone and speakers. A headset is strongly recommended to complete assignments.
  • - Download free version of Zoom

WHAT KIND OF PRE-TEST DO I NEED TO PASS TO ENROLL IN THE INTERPRETER TRAINING COURSE?

To be accepted into the program, applicants must pass an Oral Language Assessment Pre-Test and demonstrate fluency and literacy skills in English and the target language.

The pre-test is conducted over the phone and takes about 15-20 min. All the tests are usually scheduled 2 weeks before the course starts.

DO I HAVE TO PAY THE COURSE FEE BEFORE I START THE INTERPRETER TRAINING COURSE?

If accepted, participants are required to submit the course fee and a signed Student Participation Agreement prior to the first class. You can pay with a check, credit card or cash.
