ONLINE PUBLIC SERVICE AND EDUCATIONAL INTERPRETING
CERTIFICATE TRAINING PROGRAM
The 45-hour Online Public Service and Educational Interpreting Certificate Program was developed to enable participants to become competent interpreters in different professional fields, such as public services, government affairs, legal issues, and education.
We are accepting applications for our 7-week Online Public Service and Educational Interpreting Training Session that starts on April 14, 2025 and ends on May 29, 2025.
Our highly engaging online classes combined with live instructor-led interactive webinars are easy to access from wherever you are.
Space in the training program is limited and is filling up quickly. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the course is full.
PUBLIC SERVICE AND EDUCATIONAL INTERPRETING TRAINING PROGRAM INFO:
The course introduces participants to the interpreter’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, interpreter roles and skills, and professional terminology used in public service and education fields in English and the target language.
This 7-week 45-hour Public Service and Educational Interpreting program prepares individuals to be professional interpreters qualified to interpret for local and federal government agencies providing various public services to their citizens, non-governmental organizations, union representatives, investigators, and police departments.
TOTAL COST OF THE PROGRAM:
$890 ($50 non-refundable registration fee plus $840 course fee)

Online classes and Interactive Webinars:
Mondays (6.30 pm - 9.00 pm EST) and Thursdays (6.30 pm - 9.00 pm EST).
PLEASE NOTE: All the times on our site are indicated in EST (Eastern Standard Time)

PLEASE NOTE: Not every language is offered in every session. We need at least 5 participants to offer a group in a certain language.

ONLINE PUBLIC SERVICE AND EDUCATIONAL INTERPRETING TRAINING COURSE STRUCTURE:

Master your Public Service and Educational terminology in English and your Target Language and sharpen your interpreting skills in live interpreting practice sessions online with our native-speaking language instructors.

Access your course resources, materials, videos, and assignments from anywhere through your student portal.
REQUIRED SUPPLIES:
- Computer with a reliable internet connection.
- Computer Microphone and Speakers. A headset is strongly recommended to complete assignments.
- Download the free version of Zoom
PRE-REQUISITES TO BECOMING A PUBLIC SERVICE AND EDUCATIONAL INTERPRETER:
- Fluency and proficiency in written and oral English;
- Fluency and proficiency in at least one other language besides English;
- High School diploma or equivalent;
- Successful completion of language assessment Pre-test;
- Ability to communicate effectively.
HOW TO REGISTER:
STEP 1
Register online and pay $50 non-refundable registration fee online to reserve a seat in the course.

STEP 2
After you register online and pay a $50 registration fee a language coach will contact you by email or by phone to schedule a 15-minute Language Assessment Test with you on the phone. All the tests are usually scheduled 2 weeks before the course starts.
STEP 3
If you pass the test you will need to pay the course fee. Send a check or a money order to our office address (below) or call the office to pay with a credit card on the phone.
LANGUAGE-ASSESSMENT PRE-TEST:
To be accepted into the program, applicants must pass an Oral Language Assessment Pre-Test and demonstrate fluency and literacy skills in English and the target language.
The test will be administered orally on the phone by our language coach, you will have to interpret sentences from target Language into English, from English into the target Language. After we receive your application and a $50 registration fee we will contact you to schedule the Language Assessment Test.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND PUBLIC SERVICE AND EDUCATIONAL INTERPRETER:
- Bilingual case managers, social workers, and public service employees;
- Interpreters who would like to develop their professional skills; and advance their careers;
- Bilingual individuals interested in becoming Public Service and Educational interpreters. No public service or educational interpreting experience is required.
