CERTIFICATE TRAINING PROGRAM
The 45-hour Online Business and Community Interpreter Certificate Training Program was developed to enable participants to become competent interpreters in different professional fields: business, government affairs, legal issues, education, industry, social services and public relations.
Our highly engaging online classes combined with live instructor led interactive webinars are easy to access from wherever you are.
We are accepting applications for our 7-week Online Business and Community Interpreter Certificate Training Session that starts on October 4, 2021 and ends on November 28, 2021.
Space in the training program is limited and is filling up quickly. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the course is full.
BUSINESS & COMMUNITY INTERPRETING PROGRAM INFO:
The course introduces participants to interpreter’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, interpreter roles and skills and professional terminology used in these fields in English and the target language. This 7-week 45-hour program
This course prepares bilingual individuals to work as professional interpreters qualified to interpret at business meetings, IEP meetings at public schools, immigration and naturalization hearings, for state agencies, local government and non-governmental organizations.

$790 ($50 non-refundable registration fee plus $740 course fee)

TRAINING LOCATION (subject to change):
The course is entirely online.
• Computer with a reliable internet connection.
• Computer Microphone and Speakers. A headset is strongly recommended to complete assignments.

PREREQUISITES TO BECOMING A BUSINESS & COMMUNITY INTERPRETER:
- • Fluency and proficiency in written and oral English;
- • Fluency and proficiency in at least one other language besides English;
- • High School diploma or equivalent;
- • Successful completion of language assessment Pre-test;
- • Ability to communicate effectively.

HOW TO REGISTER:
Register online and pay $50 non-refundable registration fee online to reserve a seat in the course.
Call our office at (617) 277-1990 if you have any questions about payment.
After you register online and pay a $50 registration fee a language coach will contact you by email or by phone to schedule a 15-min Language Assessment Test with you on the phone. All the tests are usually scheduled 2 weeks before the course starts.
If you pass the test you will need to pay the course fee. Send a check or a money order to our office address (below) or call the office to pay with a credit card on the phone.
To be accepted into the program, applicants must pass an Oral Language Assessment Pre-Test and demonstrate fluency and literacy skills in English and the target language. The test will be administered orally on the phone by our Language coach, you will have to interpret sentences from target Language into English, from English into the target Language. After we receive your Application and a $50 registration fee we will contact you to schedule the Language Assessment Test.

- • Business & Community interpreters;
- • Bilingual individuals interested in becoming Business & Community interpreters, case managers or social workers. No community interpreting experience background required
