General Scope of Job:
Under the direction of the Client Services Manager, the Medical Interpreter serves the patients and staff and supports the operations of the department, in the consecutive, simultaneous, and sight translation modes. The Interpreter relays medical information between speakers of two different languages in compliance with all office and health center policies and procedures, particularly relating to patient confidentiality and informed consent and also assists department with on-the-job training.

Job Description: Minimum Skills, Experience & Educational Requirements: Minimum Skills, Experience and Educational Requirements: High School Diploma/GED, Medical Interpreting education from an accredited program; program must be a minimum of 40 hours and have a verbal and written component, oral and written fluency in English/Vietnamese, knowledge of medical terminology, high level of customer service and a positive approach, ability to work well under pressure, set priorities and manage multiple patients encounters at once, ability to work as part of a team and in collaboration with other health professionals, flexible to meet scheduling needs and handle often unpredictable changes, projects positive attitude about the department and the health center and offers services to ensure positive experience, works as a team with colleagues and providers, self-corrects, understands own linguistic limitations, seeks clarification and accepts correction, good interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills, Computer Literate with basic skills with Microsoft Office applications; specifically Word, Excel & Outlook.
